Inspiring Interior Design Trends for 2019 that will transform your Home

March 2019

Pantone’s colour of the year for 2019 is a life-affirming coral hue. Vibrant, energising, yet calming warm and comforting colours. We are certainly going to have fun working with these beautiful: reds, flamingo orange, teal and purple, grey flannel, gold and apricot all oozing with breathtaking depth and richness of colour.
Botanical prints and hues are growing stronger and stronger for 2019, which fits perfectly with tropical colour-way.  Velvet furnishings will be one of 2019’s most sought-after trends.

A few upcoming trends for 2019 that you may want to introduce in your home improvement design:-

  • Hints of Art Deco are emerging in detailing on tables, chairs, lighting and the mixed metals trend. Who doesn’t love a touch of glamour, I certainly do!
  • Metallic finish has had a revamp and it is predicted that it is going to come at us in a major way in 2019. With finishes covering gold patinas, black gold and bright gold’s being paired with raw natural finishes and high-end appliances, gold has never looked so good.
  • The black and white trend is back for the season ahead, with lots of strong bold geometric patterns and natural woven elements. The visual contrast of black and white will provide a sense of balance and boldness to your home’s space.
  • Natural fabrics are going to be a key trend that will hit the mainstream in 2019. Items such as upholstered furniture, throws and cushions.
  • Copper is uplifting to see in this year predicted trend with its red and orange tones and overall earthy hue.  Copper features such as light fitting, vase, mirror, side tables, etc.
  • Natural origins such as stone and concrete have grown more popular especially in kitchen and bathroom designs; for a crisp and clean look/feel.
  • Bar Carts continues to be popular in 2019.  If you like entertaining and mixing the odd cocktail, a bar cart is a ‘must have’ for the avid entertainer. There are so many designs, although marble and gold bar carts make a glitzy comeback. Great indoor and outdoor.
  • With the need for a calm, cozy retreat and an overall focus on well-being, Scandinavian style continues to be a popular trend.
  • Tropical indoor plants such as Palm tree, Banana plant, etc. expected to be a big hit this year. Artificial plants have come a long way, therefore if you don’t have green fingers, no problem, simply purchase high quality artificial plant which only needs dusting occasionally.
